Reflection

The research I gathered supports my original knowledge by proving what I was saying to be true. For example, me knowing poverty was a huge problem and my basic definition of poverty were very similar to the research I found.
Two pieces of information I was surprised  to learn are how "technological backwards" Africa was. Also, how many civil wars there's been and how that affected it greatly. I knew about both theses issues before hand but I didn't know how extreme they were  The lack of technology stood out to me a lot because we live in such a technology based world that its surprising that not every where has an abundance of technology.I was surprised with the wars because there's been so many civil wars all around the world. Yer, Africa had the most,  I was just in shook by the amount Africa has had alone.
Two new question I have on this topic are, 'What is the government system like in Sub-Saharan Africa?' and 'What does the future of Sub-Saharan Africa looks like with their rate of poverty?' I would like to know my first question because the government system is extremely important in runing a country. However, most countries in Sub-Saharan Africa have a very corrupted government. So it would be interesting to learn more about how that works and what they are doing to help end poverty. I would also like to see what the future hold for Sub-Saharan Africa because if they continue to develop the way they are then there's going to be a very, very long time of suffering for Africans.
The main point I feel that must be emphasized when discussing this topic is the amount of money that people in poverty have to spend. 80% of people in in Sub-Saharan Africa have less then $2 a day. That's absolutely insane and completely heart breaking, you can't even buy one meal. This needs to be emphasized because its a realty and an impossible life to live. Millions of people have to try and survive with only $2 or less and that's literally impossible. This needs to stop because it's humanly impossible for people to live like this sand completely heart breaking.
