Q.6. What are people doing to help end poverty?
There's many different organizations, governments and social response to poverty but its still not enough. But here's whats happening..
Government response: Some governments are implying minimum wage laws and that's when all work forces have to pay all employees a minimum wage depending on what the government says. However, in most of the developing world ( Sub-Saharan Africa) they don't have this law so most people are paid very little. There's also social security, negative income tax, and in-kind benefits.
Social security is a number of different government benefits. Such as, social welfare, income support and tax credits.
Negative income tax is when people with a low income pay a negative income tax. They pay less tax or barely no tax.
In- kind benefits are no money benefits. This gives people a access to certain goods and services that they may not have been able to afford otherwise. Such as food, clothing, and shelter.
The only problem with this, is that there's not much of this happening in the developing world because of their poor governments. These ideas and services are really smart and really good ideas but aren't executed well enough all around the world to make actual change.
However, there's also many organizations for people to join and support to help end poverty. Look at the get Involved page for several ways you could help end poverty.
